SNOWBOARDING

Park Labs is designed to help riders on their first day in the park all the way up to 360s over medium park features. Park Labs focuses on core riding skills that help riders become more centered and generate power from their boards that allows them to pop, grab, spin and slide over features with confidence.

3 PROGRAM OPTIONS

PERFORMANCE LAB
Performance Lab is where every Park Labs athlete develops the movement patterns that great freestyle riding is built on.

TEAM LABS
Designed for athletes who are ready for a higher volume of riding, advanced skill development, and competition-focused coaching.

SESSION LABS
New pilot program designed for snowboarders who want to spend more time riding with athletes their own age
(12-16).

At Park Labs, we take the concept of fun seriously! Alongside skill development, we prioritize:

  • Positive Mindsets: Visualization techniques, goal setting, and overcoming fear with Tubes'
    good vibes sticker.

  • Camaraderie and Teamwork: Encouraging athletes to support one another and forge lasting friendships with Tubes' good times sticker.

  • Safety: Teaching athletes to handle themselves in a park environment without a coach or team present, recognized with a Tubes' park “rule of the road” sticker.

BUNSEN + DROPPER TWINS + TUBES

Our friendly mascots Bunsen and the Dropper Twins helps motivate progression. Riders can earn unique stickers of Bunsen/The Dropper Twins as they progress throughout the season. Bunsen sticker additionally comes in bronze, silver
and gold— riders can earn them all as
they master their skills/tricks.

Tubes oversees all things fun! Tubes is all about Good Vibes, Fun and Safety!

TRAINING ENVIRONMENT

Central to our ethos is fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment where athletes can thrive. Structured sessions focus on mastering techniques such as popping, grabbing, spinning, 50/50s, and slides on small to medium park features. While free riding remains integral, every drill is tailored to enhance performance on park runs.

Freestyle athletes often exhibit free-thinking traits, such as ADD, ADHD, or dyslexia. One of Park Labs' owners, Shawn, shares these traits and knows how to design programs that cater to them.

WE EMPHASIZE

  • Culture

  • Visual and feel-based learning

  • Coaching delivered in small chunks with time for exploration

  • Visualization and positive mindsets

***The curriculum in freestyle cannot be too rigid as it doesn't fit the culture.

EVENTS + COMMUNITY

To complement our training program, we host Park Labs events designed to match athletes' skill levels.
Age categories are structured every two years, and a maximum trick limit ensures fair competition and
optimal opportunities for success. Join us at Park Labs, where we're not just shaping athletes—we're building a community.

Built around plenty of park laps, video review, and individual coaching, Session Lab gives riders the opportunity to develop style, consistency, and confidence while riding with a crew that shares similar goals.

Instead of progressing through individual Bunsen skill stickers, athletes work toward earning the Park Labs Logo in Silver, Gold, and Rainbow by mastering groups of freestyle skills
throughout the season. The focus is on quality movement, consistency, and developing a riding style that reflects each athlete's personality.

Athlete can participate in the
Collingwood Groms Series throughout the season, with
opportunities to compete in
It Came From the Labs! events. Saturday coaching is included with the program. As this is a pilot program, athletes wishing to attend Sunday events may do so by registering for additional event coaching.
